LED Technology

Why Light-Emitting Diode (LED) Technology?
A light-emitting diode (LED; EL-ee-DEE) is a semiconductor light source. LEDs are used as indicator lamps in many devices and are increasingly used for other lighting. Introduced as a practical electronic component in 1962, early LEDs emitted low-intensity red light, but modern versions are available across the visible, ultraviolet and infrared wavelengths, with very high brightness.

LED signs, LED displays, LED message centers and LED billboards are proven advertising tools. They “grab” the passerby’s attention and deliver your message to a very high percentage of the passing traffic. LED is the perfect solution for any application requiring effective visual communication.  Your advertisement is so much more relevant to a customer reading your ad as he drives by than to an individual in the next county who would likely never drive to your business location for most any reason.

This product permits the business owner to potentially have a mini-conversation with every prospective customer passing his business, many on a daily basis.  This results in many of your new customers often entering a business already knowing a great deal about the product which interests them.

LED signs provide extremely effective advertising:
• bright, high intensity displays grab attention
• high visibility even during a bright sunny day
• light and animation cut through the clutter to deliver your message
• highly productive and extremely cost effective
• always on the job, never complains or takes days off
• like having a sales rep on the street 24 hrs/365 days per year
• target your vicinity with real-time relevant messaging

LED sign displays are reliable:
• long life – up to 100,000 hours of usage (that’s over 11 years of continuous usage)
• energy efficient
• rigid solid-state construction
• low maintenance

LED signs are safer:
• LED’s do not generate heat
• fully enclosed electronics
• energy efficient
• environmentally friendly – Our LED’s contain no mercury, phosphor, or sodium
• lower CO2 emissions

Important facts about LED Signs:
According to research conducted by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), businesses that chose to enhance their signage with an electronic message display saw typical sales increase of 15% to 150%.

Consider the following example using the conservative extreme, 15%. A small business having $1,000 in daily revenue invests in an electronic sign board. A 15% increase in revenue totals $150 per day, $1050 per week, and $54,600 per year.

Not only do LED signs increase sales, they also cost much less than other forms of advertising. Businesses often employ advertising methods based on the cost per thousand exposures of their message to the public. In terms of the cost per thousand exposures, no other form of advertising even approaches the efficiency and cost effectiveness of an electronic message display. It is virtually pennies compared to dollars.

Compare the figures below presented by the SBA:
• New LED electronic message display – The average cost is less than $0.45 for 1000 exposures.
• Newspapers – The average cost is about $7.39 per 1000 exposures in a 10-mile radius of business position.
• Television – The average cost is about $6.26 for 1000 exposures.
• Radio – The average cost is about $5.47 for 1000 exposures.

For example, suppose you invest $30,000 in this type of electronic sign, and the useful life of that display is approximately ten years. The amortized cost on a daily basis would be about $8.62. Add $0.20, the daily charges for electricity, to the amortized cost, and then the total expense would be about $8.82 per day. If daily vehicle traffic passing your business is roughly 20,000, your cost would be less than $0.45 per 1000 exposures (this assumes that vehicles contain drivers only)! If others are in the vehicle the costs are even less!!

With an LED sign or EMC, the average cost for 1000 exposures to consumers is less than 10% of the cost for 1000 exposures using any other prevalent advertising method.
